Get Ready for Your Amazing Interview on The Lead Machine Growth Show with Paul Guyon

Take a moment and read the instructions below, which many of our guests have found helpful.

I can’t wait to have you as my guest expert on the Lead Machine Growth Show!

To get the most out of our time together, here is what you need to know so we’re prepared and have a great conversation.

If you have any questions or need assistance, e-mail me at paul@pdguyon.com or call me at 231-357-5513.

Let’s get started!

LOGGING IN FOR OUR INTERVIEW

Our interview will happen on the date and time you scheduled; we sent a confirmation and will send reminders.

All our interviews are on Zoom; we also sent you that information.

Each episode is approximately 45 minutes – the appointment will be 60 minutes because we’ve built in a little extra time to chat and, if necessary, overcome any minor unforeseen glitches.

We must be there on time so we get the most out of our time together and out of respect for your busy schedule.

TECHNOLOGY DETAILS

This is a Video show, so please be prepared with a webcam, microphone, headphones (if desired), and good lighting to ensure we have good video and audio and can see each other.

Make sure you’re on a stable, high-speed connection to avoid the likelihood of technical interruptions and deliver a high-quality recording your audience will love and enjoy.

Double-check your microphone, webcam, and internet connections to ensure smooth, stable transmission.

Wherever you are, be sure there are no noise distractions that could interfere with the sound quality.

If you need a good microphone and webcam, we recommend:

  • Blue Yeti for Recording and Streaming on PC/Mac ($99 on Amazon.com) is best if you have a quiet place to record, OR the Rode Lavalier GO Professional Wearable Microphone ($79 on Amazon.com)
  • Logitech C920e HD 1080p Mic-Enabled Webcam ($59 on Amazon.com) This can be used for video and audio, as long as you have a quiet place to record.
  • We recommend using your favorite headphones to reduce echo and audio issues.

GETTING LOGGED IN AND READY

Again, ensure you’re logged in and ready a couple of minutes before the scheduled recording time, so we can confirm that all the systems are a “go.”

If you wish to have notes or props for the interview, have them neatly organized in front of you so you can use them without getting distracted.

We recommend you have a beverage beside you, so pour yourself a tall glass before you log in to avoid getting thirsty during our conversation.

We ask you please avoid eating or chewing gum, as this will significantly impact the quality of the audio. If you need to eat, we ask you to do so before we begin.

Taking a quick moment to ensure all these factors in place will make a huge difference in making this a MEMORABLE interview your audience will love!

HOW THE SHOW WILL GO

When we are ready to begin, I will press “Record.”

Then, we will have a brief silence so I can quickly confirm that everything is in working order.

I will introduce the show, introduce you, then have you speak and say hello to the listeners.

Then, we will begin.

We will ask some or all of the suggested interview questions that you entered on the application, plus I will ask you:

  • About your business, offer, and what you share with the world.
  • Three success tips you have for our listeners that help them.

If needed, we will make real-time adjustments to this question sequence during the interview to make sure the conversation flows smoothly, allow for interesting topics that may naturally arise to get their due, and keep the conversation natural if, for example, you end up answering two of these questions in your response to one question.

COMMERCIAL BREAKS

At some point(s) during the interview, we may take a commercial break.

If we do, I will signal by announcing something like, “And now, a word from our sponsor…”

At that point, we will have about 15 seconds of silence so my editor can easily find the editing point on the timeline, and we don’t have to worry about clicking the Record button and losing part of the interview if the click doesn’t “take.”

IF WE GET DISCONNECTED

Stuff happens sometimes – if we get disconnected, relax; we’ll fix it 😊

If you get disconnected, reconnect quickly. I’ll wait for you.

If I get disconnected, wait. I’ll reconnect quickly.

To create a clean transition, once we’re fully reconnected, we’ll have 10 seconds of silence, then I’ll re-ask the last question so the two pieces of the recording can be cleanly spliced together.

WRAP-UP AND POST-INTERVIEW

After the interview, I will thank you, give you a moment to say goodbye, then sign off.

At that point, I will end the recording, and we’ll have a few minutes to chat about the topics that may naturally arise as we go through our interview.

Looking forward to it!
